Phases of Nuitari

High Sanction

Each of the three Orders of High Sorcery worships and receives its powers from the brother gods, Lunitari, Solinari, and Nuitari, which are represented by the three moons that orbit Krynn in Ethereal Plane. Wizards of the Black Robes worship Nuitari whose domain is commanding and destructive magic. Nuitari, where the god of black magic resides, is the smallest and nearest moon. Its orbit takes 8 days with 2 days per quarter. Nuitari cannot be detected, except by the Wizards of the Black Robes, unless it eclipses other stars and moons. Influence of magic waxes and wanes according to the phases and alignments of the moons of magic. Apprentice wizards and renegade wizards are unaffected by the lunar phases.

AD&D Rule: A Wizard of the Black Robes gains +1 to Saving Throws and +1 to Effect Level when Nuitari is at High Sanction. Also, she can memorize 2 additional spells (of any level that wizard can cast). These moon phase effects are cumulative with the moon alignment effects. Note that only wizards of 6th level or higher and with Intelligence of 15 or greater receive High Sanction bonuses. Others gain only 1 additional spell (of any level that wizard can cast).

D&D 3rd Edition Rule: A Wizard of the Black Robes can cast spells at +1 caster level and with saving throws DCs against their spells increased by 1 when Nuitari is at High Sanction.
